We recently completed a website for a Canadian non-profit organization called "A Seed of Change". A Seed of Change awards micro-grants to worthy applicants who seek to engage and promote animal rights advocacy, children's rights and education, alternative and sustainable energy projects and human health and well-being.

The interesting thing about this website is the application process. We used a 3rd-party provider of forms, applications and questionnaires that includes pull-down menu options, text fields, check boxes, and utilizes logic statements and responses for qualification purposes. We do this through rules that are both field-dependent and global form rules.

This process will allow applicants to go through the process without having to be reviewed by a human. If the applicant, through a series of pre-qualifying questions, does not meet the criteria, they will be prevented from going through to the final phase of the application process. If they answer correctly, they will be automatically redirected to the formal grant application step.

We embedded these forms/questionnaires within the domain of the website which is always preferable than being redirected to a third-party site. It allows users to spend more time within the client's site, feel more comfortable at providing information and instilling confidence.
